Tips To Better Deal With Your Holiday Meal
Man, that turkey looks great! Oh my, is that green bean casserole? You made how many pumpkin pies?!
The holidays are back and that means lots of time spent with loved ones, typically around a meal. You want to dive in, and we don't blame you. Here are some tips we came up with to help your body better utilize your meal and keep you bouncing back into routine.
Don't Get Down On Yourself
You should be able to enjoy your holiday's, guilt-free! If you binge, don't beat yourself up. Make sure you get back into your healthy routine the next day.
Don't Turn It Into A Food Week
Surely there will be leftovers. Find creative ways to turn your leftovers into smaller portioned healthier meals for you to enjoy. Don't binge for days! If you need to, portion out your leftovers into smaller meals for the days to come.
EXERCISE!!!
Get up and get moving. If you have plans to have a meal with loved ones, it's even better to plan a workout before your meal. Your body will absorb all the nutrients for good use in your body. Don't forget to exercise the day after as well. Lifting weights will better burn off calories from carbs. Workout out larger muscle groups such as legs and chest can help utilize more carbs as well.
Get Back To Eating
Don't just stop eating because you binged. Make sure you go back to a healthy eating routine so that your body can better react to the food it just took in. Be sure to add more fiber and vegetables back into your diet.
Drink The Good Stuff
Drinking water helps us feel full, but it also helps our body burn more. When the body is properly hydrated, nutrients can be better transported through the body and used properly as fuel.
